CBIT First Batch Students are the Founder Members and Promoter
Donors of Chaitanya Bharathi Educational Society (C B E S),
which lead to the establishment of CBIT in
Aug,1979 AND MGIT in 1990. This was possible with active
support of State
Govt. Of Andhra Pradesh, which was then lead by the dynamic
Chief Minister M. Chenna Reddy. CBIT was the first private
Engineering College in Telangana area of then Andhra Pradesh.
The First Chairmen of CBES was Justice Konda Madhava Reddy who
was instrumental in acquiring little over 130 acres from the
farmers by paying them, then the best possible price for their
land. Its their blessing that these two colleges have grown up
to what it is now – One of the The Best Engineering Colleges in
South India. Dr.V. Malakonda Reddy was the first Secretary of
CBES and also the First Principal of CBIT, who was instrumental
in building the College to the level of being the best in South
India.
The establishment of CBIT
was under sever criticism from the Leftist and the Rightist
groups. In Sep,1979. We, (i.e. the Promoter Donors i.e First
batch students of 1979) were instrumental in sustaining the
agitation carrying out by various student bodies like ABVP and
PDSU against Private Engineering Colleges for four long months.
After the long struggle and against all odds, we got the college
started in Dec.1979. From then on the College has rolled out
more than 30,000 Engineers and 10,000 Post Graduates and
Doctorates.
The funds contributed by us, in the
form of society membership fees were used to form the CBES and
then create the necessary basic
infrastructure for
the CBIT in the form of Land and Buildings.
Then contribution from
1980, 81, and 82 batches of students were used to expand the
Buildings and create a good infrastructure of CBIT for the
future Students.
CBIT7983
actively participated in various activities of CBIT through our
CBIT Alumni Association founded by us in the name of
Chaitanya Smrithi
in March 1983 and highlighted about the issues which
would take Colleges into greater heights. We had also initiated
scholarships for the deserving students through Alumni
Association.
However, we had realized a bit too late that we were being
fooled all the time with false promises and failed attempts to
be inducted into the Management of CBES and CBIT by successive
Governing Bodies, as they did not want to lose control of the
management which had become a cash cow for them till date.
We now are
perusing our right to be in Management of these prestigious
institutions in various forums, incuding the present State Govt.
of Telangana.
Activities

Alumni Association, decided an annual date as 25 Dec, of
every year to conduct the Association meeting now called

date is very important to us as we breathed fresh air after
coming to an end of
a sustained struggle with Lefts and Rights Groups who
were against the establishment of Private College in
Telangana area.

Bi-annual CBIT COLLEGE Carnival called CARPIDIEM ,
where activities like New Technology trends are discussed,

whole Country where only the students conduct three day

challenging effort, so that the students will have an
experience of raising funds and conducting an event of
massive scale.
